- Thoroughly clean roof, removing any debris prior to application of EPDM Rinse.
- Apply Metacrylics® EPDM Rinse over the EPDM @ 0.2 gallons/SQ and let sit for 20 minutes, then pressure wash to remove EPDM Rinse.
- Thoroughly pressure wash roof.
- All penetrations must be sealed with Metacrylics® Acrylic Gel or 3-coursed with Acrylic Gel and fabric. Field seams that are identified as bad or buckled should be 3-coursed with Acrylic Base and fabric.
- Apply Metacrylics® Clear Acrylic Base @ 1 gallon/SQ to the entire roof. Allow 4-12 hours to cure.
- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic White @ 2 gallons/SQ over the Clear Acrylic Base. Allow at least 24 hours to cure.

- Reinforce all bad seams with polyester fabric and Clear Base. Reinforce all waterways and ponding areas.
- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic White @ 3 gallons/SQ in two applications of 1.5 gallons/SQ each. Apply to parapet walls, flashings, and HVAC ducting. Allow 24-48 hours between applications.

- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic White @ 3.5 gallons/SQ over the Clear Acrylic Base in two applications at the rate of 1.75 gallons/SQ per coat.
- Also Apply to parapet walls, flashing, and HVAC ducting. Allow 24-48 hours to cure between applications.

Allow 48 hours cure time.
- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic Base at the rate of 2 gallons/SQ to encapsulate the exposed fabric.
- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic White @ 7 gallons/SQ over the Clear Acrylic Base in four applications @ 1.75 gallons/SQ per application. Also apply to parapet walls, flashing, and HVAC ducting. Allow at least 24 hours to cure between applications.

- Spud or tear off gravel roof, ensuring all loose gravel is removed.
- Thoroughly clean roof of all debris and dust and pressure wash.
- Apply Metacrylics® Clear Base or Black Primer @ 1.5 gallons/SQ to entire roof. NOTE: if the old roof has been completely removed, less primer will be needed.
- 3-course penetration detail (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail Instructions).

- Apply Metacrylics® Roof & Tile Primer @ 0.5 gallons/SQ to the entire roof. Allow 2-4 hours to cure.
- 3-course penetration detail (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail Instructions).
- Apply Metacrylics® Acrylic Gray Base @ 2 gallon/SQ to the entire walking deck surface and embed Polyester Fabric with a brush or broom while coating is wet. Immediately apply Metacrylics Acrylic Gray Base over fabric at the rate of 2 gallon/SQ in order to saturate and encapsulate the fabric. Allow 48 hours to cure.
- Apply 2 gallon/SQ of Metacrylics Acrylic White. Allow 48 hours curing time. Apply 1 gallon/SQ of Metacrylics Acrylic Color. Allow 4-12 hours curing time. Apply 1 gallon/SQ of Metacrylics Acrylic Color. Allow 24 hours curing time.
- Non-Slip Traffic Coat:
OPTION 1: Apply a final application @ 2 gallons/SQ with either 30 mesh sand or rubber granules mixed with the Metacrylics® Acrylic Color (mix sand at the rate of 1-2 quarts per 2.5 gallons of coating). Apply with texture roller cover, 3/4″ roller cover, trowel, or texture spray gun.
OPTION 2: While the second coat of top coat is still wet, broadcast or flood coat 30 mesh sand or rubber granules into coating. Blow off excess sand or granules. Apply a final application @ 2 gallons/ SQ over sand or granules with either 3/4″ roller cover, texture roller cover, trowel, or texture spray gun. Allow 24-48 hours cure time.
- Apply Metacrylics® Roof & Tile Sealer @ 0.25 gallons/SQ. Allow 4-12 hours to cure.

Penetration Detail Instructions
GUTTERS
- Thoroughly pressure wash gutters. Rusted areas must be replaced with new gutters.
- Apply primer to gutters.
- 3-course with GEL & FABRIC over all joints. Do not use PEEL & COAT on any gutters!
- Gutters can be coated with Metacrylics Acrylic White or Metacrylics Silicone White.
PARAPET COPING (CAP)
- Thoroughly wash or pressure wash parapet coping.
- Prime coping. Any rusted areas must be primed with black primer instead of clear primer.
- 3-Course with GEL & FABRIC over the top of the coping (cap) joints and screws.
- Coat with WHITE topcoat.
NOSINGS, EDGE FLASHINGS, & GRAVEL STOPS
- Apply primer to all edge flashings. If new, wipe with vinegar or suitable cleaning agent.
- Apply 3-Course with 6”-9” FABRIC & GEL over the top of the edge flashing.
- Apply the 3-Course 3” on horizontal flashing and 3” on vertical flashing on the outside wall.
WOOD BLOCKS
- Lift and remove block.
- Apply GEL or ACRYLIC BASE & WHITE coating to the area.
- Allow to dry and replace block.
- If damage to the roof occurs while removing block, 3-Course with GEL & FABRIC and replace block when dry.
WOOD SLEEPERS (HVAC SUPPORTS)
- Jack up HVAC unit and remove sleeper.
- Install Metacrylics 1-Ply or granulated slip sheet under entire area of sleepers and HVAC.
- When the system is cured, replace sleepers. Be sure that lags attaching HVAC to sleepers are not too long and will not penetrate the roof system.
- If sleepers cannot be moved or lifted, they must be completely encapsulated. The area under HVAC should be coated with Metacrylics and reinforced with fabric.
Penetration Detail Instructions
HVAC DUCTS
- Thoroughly pressure wash all ducts.
- 3-Course duct joints with Metacrylics ACRYLIC GEL & fabric or apply 4″ peel & Coat Tape over joints.
- Apply 2 gals/SQ of Metacrylics ACRYLIC WHITE in two applications of 1 gal/SQ of ACRYLIC WHITE.
SKYLIGHTS
- 3-Course up the side of the skylight curb a minimum of 3” and onto the field area 3”. Be careful not to cover any weep (drainage) holes in the skylight.
- Apply ACRYLIC GEL to all exposed screw heads.
PITCH POCKETS
- Fill pitch pocket with Metacrylics ACRYLIC GEL.
- 3-Course with GEL & FABRIC over the top of the pitch pocket and down to the base of the pitch pocket, and at least 3” onto the roof.
- Apply ACRYLIC GEL to the penetration exiting the pitch pocket for 10” in length.
SCUPPERS & DRAINS
- Remove all old asphalt, mastic, and roofing materials around and inside the scupper. For drains, remove the drain screen, clamp ring, and screws.
- Thoroughly apply Metacrylics primer to scuppers and drains.
- For scuppers:
- Apply Metacrylics GEL liberally to the inside and outside of the scupper
- Cut a 9”-20” square piece of fabric and embed into the GEL. Sometimes overlapping 4” strips of fabric into GEL may be preferred depending on the size of the scupper.
- Embed the fabric at least 4” into and around the inside of the scupper.
- Apply a cover coat of Metacrylics ACRYLIC GEL.
- For drains:
- 3-Course with GEL & FABRIC into the drain pipe at least 2”.
- Take a 20” or 40” square of fabric and place over the drain, cutting a hole out for the drain.
- 3-Course then reattach drain ring and screen cover.
