What is EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) Roof System
EPDM is rubber single plie roof systems. as put as possible. Most EPDM is black, although there is a white version of it. Chances are good; any EPDM you see will be black. The material is used on commercial low-sloped buildings and is often held in place using gravel or rocks, also known as ballast in the industry. It moves and stretches with the building movement.
This system requires adhesives at the seams and flashings and is not weldable. However, it is very durable and provides excellent waterproofing when in good condition. Like any other roof system, the installer’s skill and ongoing maintenance will determine the actual service life of the system.

How to restore an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) Roof System roof system
Before any roof restoration project, our experts will inspect the roof. There may or may not require some testing. Before applying any roof restoration correctly, we need to know that the roof does not have moisture trapped or any server water damage. After completing our due diligence inspection, our team will make any necessary repairs.
The next step is to powerwash the roof using no less than a 3500-psi power washer because of the unique nature of EPDM roofing. We will use a rinsing agent manufactured by Metacrylics coatings, specially formulated to clean an EPDM roofing. Many roofers will insist that you can not apply coatings to an EPDM system. We can successfully apply coating materials if the material is appropriately prepared and clean.
Our next step is to seal any seams and penetrations of other flashings. Then our expert applicators will apply a clear coat base. We protect the EPDM membrane and build the perfect substrate for the top coat. And lastly, we will apply a top coat, transforming that black roof into a bright white roof. Or any other color you may choose. We have nearly any color you may want to choose from.

The benefits of a restored EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) Roof System
Our top coat is a reflective material, reflecting light from the sun away from the roof. That heat makes its way to the interior of the building and must be removed. Our top coating materials reflect most of the light away from the roof. That heat is not absorbed into the interior of the building. It must be removed and save the owner or the occupant money on their air conditioning bill.
Arizona needs a sound air conditioning system because it gets scorching here. The more heat the air conditioning system must remove. The more wear and tear there will be on your Air conditioner and the means it will break down sooner. By helping keep the heat out of the building, the air conditioner must work less. And by happy happenstance saves you or the occupant the cost of replacing the air conditioner system before its time.
